Course content
The origin and evolution of chordates. Cartilage and bone in the evolution of vertebrates. The skull, jaw, spine, legs, covering the body organ systems. Agnatha and Gnathostomata overview of fossil and recent higher taxa, phylogeny. Condrichthyes, fish phylogeny, system, evolutionarily significant groups. The evolution of organ systems and body plan. Biogeography of recent groups of marine and freshwater fishy vertebrates. First systematics and phylogenetic methodology. Second taxonomy, phylogeny and evolution of fishy vertebrates. 2a. History of fishy vertebrates. 2b. Paleo- and mezozoc rybovití fishy vertebrates. 2c. Chondrichthyes . 2d. recent representatives of primitive groups of of fishy vertebrates. 2e. origin of terrestrial vertebrates. 2f. diversity of Osteichthyes and Teleostei , the richest group of vertebrates. 3. structure, function and ontogeny: skeleton, skin, and cover the body, anatomy organ systems . 4. zoogeography of recent groups of marine and freshwater of fishy vertebrates. Feeding biology and methods of study the food of the fish.

Learning outcomes
Detailed introduction the diversity of the fishes of vertebrates (Agnatha - Chondrichthyes Sarcopterygii - Acanthopterygii), their morphology, anatomy and phylogeny.
Students will become familiar with the diversity of fishy vertebrates (Agnatha, Chondrichthyes, Sarcopterygii - Acanthopterygii), their morphology, anatomy and phylogeny.
