Ontogeny of behavior and biological rhytms. 5. Learning and cognition 6. Orientation and navigation 7. Migration, dispersion and habitat selection 8. Foraging 9. Antipredatory behavior 10. Sexual selection 11. Parental care 12. Living in groups, altruism and cooperation.

Mechanisms and evolutionary consequences of animal behavior.
An understanding of the proximate mechanisms determining animal behavior. The knowledge how animal behavior affects individual fitness.

Basic knowledge of genetics, physiology, evolutionary biology, and ecology.
