1. Basic safety aspects in organic chemistry laboratory 2. Conventional preparative methods 3. Basic isolation and purification techniques (filtration, extraction, distillation, crystallization) 4. Preparative chromatography 5. Analysis of organic compounds by chromatographic methods (TLC, HPLC-MS) 6. Analysis of organic compounds by NMR and HRMS 7. Basics in strategy and tactics in organic synthesis

Learning outcomes
The practical course in organic chemistry is focused on the development of basic laboratory skills. First of all, the students are informed about safety aspects in chemical laboratory to successfully accomplish synthesis of organic compounds. Then, students are introduced to preparative methods, isolation techniques, characterization of organic compounds, and efficient design of synthetic routes.
