Course content
The course for students who want to get, a bit theoretically and little more practically, into the issue of the green infrastructure, its inventory, assessment, and planning in urbanised spaces. The course for students who not only would like to identify woody plants, but also their role, function and benefits in urbanism and spatial planning. What is the green infrastructure and what are the ecosystem services? What is the green urbanism, what types of urban greenspace are there, what are the ecological specifics of these spaces, how do we inventory the urban greenspace, and how do we manage it? Which woody plants can be found in urbanised spaces and what are their characteristics? These themes will be particularly dealt with and explained during the outdoor activities. The crucial part of the course is dendrological knowledge, which will be developed carefully. In practical parts, we will learn to identify woody plants and to inspect relevant aspects of the field research into the green infrastructure of urbanised spaces.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Observation, Demonstration, Group work
Learning outcomes
The course will present the issue of the green infrastructure im urbanised spaces aiming at practical aspects of inventory, assessment, and planning of the green infrastructure
comprehend the role of the green infrastructure in urbanised spaces theoretically and practically
Prerequisites
unspecified

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Analysis of Activities ( Technical works)

Exam consists of two parts: identification of woody plants (written during semester) and test (written in the exam period). Seminar is credited based on elaboration of practical field research.
