Course content
1. Introduction to statistics and its role in the process of knowledge 2. Basic statistical concepts - statistical features and their types, statistical units, statistical file 3. Frequency processing of a statistical file, determination of the number of intervals for interval distribution of frequencies 4. PivotTables (second level classification) 5. Basic statistical characteristics - characteristics of position (levels) 6. Basic statistical characteristics - characteristics of variability 7. Introduction to probability theory 8. Theoretical frequency distributions - normal and normalized normal distributions 9. Introduction to the theory of dependencies 10. Dependencies of nominal and ordinal signs 11. Dependencies of cardinal features - Pearson's correlation coefficient.

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as an introductory introduction to statistical methods used in geography. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the basics of statistical methods and their application to a real dataset in the MS Excel environment.
Recall basic statistical procedures related to geographical research, their application.

Requirements: attendance (one absence is tolerated) and obtaining a sufficient number of points from two tests.
