Course content
|
Course is aimed at issue of natural hazards and risks. The basic terms risk and hazard including historical aspects are defined. Course is divided into part concerned with extraterrestrial influences and endogenous natural hazards, particularly volcanic activity an earthquakes, and part concerned with exogenous risks including hydrological (floods, tsunami), climatic a meteorological (torrential precipitation, tropical cyclones, heavy winds) and geomorphologic risk phenomena (landslides, erosion). Attention is paid to causes, methods of assessment, consequences of risk phenomena and to historically most important events.
