Course content

This course examines the spatial aspects of crime and their societal implications. Students will explore theoretical frameworks and methodologies used to analyse criminal behaviour patterns and crime distribution across various environments. The course covers topics such as spatial distribution of crime, environmental influences on crime and its prevention. The instruction includes working with GIS tools for crime mapping and identification of high-risk locations with practical applications in urban planning.

Learning outcomes

The course objective is to introduce students to the spatial aspects of criminality and their relationship to urban environments.
