Course content
Basis and methodological approaches of religion geography - forming of the discipline, its main streams and representatives, notion of religion and religion system and religion classification will be studied. We will further study characteristics and term of individual religions (origin, development, system etc.). Geographical traits of folk religions, national religions (Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism, Confucianism, Taoism and Shintoism), universal religion systems (Buddhism, Christianity and Islam) and new religions. We will also discuss impact of the environment on creation of religious images, diffusion of religion systems in space and influence of religions on the environment.

Learning outcomes
The aim of lectures is to present the spatial aspect of the religions (differentiation of world and the Czech Republic).
Recall basic terms and concepts used in geography of religions.
Prerequisites
Elementary knowledge in social sciences.

Written exam, Essay
