Course for interested students fond of nature, who would like to learn more about one of the basic issues of geography, i.e. the relationship between the man and geographical environment, particularly the landscape. What are the relationships between individual landscape components and how does a geographer read the landscape? What do the geological processes tell us about the evolution of our planet? What does the geographer need to know about soil as about the landscape mirror? How did the relationship between the man and nature change during the history? What are the problems in protected areas? And what is important and interesting in urban and suburban environment? These are the main topics of the course, which consists of lectures, seminars and a field trip. Seminars are held outside the faculty building, field trip lasts for 5 days, demands for a certain fitness (mountain terrain) and stuff presented during lectures is demonstrated at suitable sites practically.
