Course content |
The subject focuses on the issues of physical-geographical research and its application within a sustainable development territory. Basic themes: 1. Physical geography and its position in the development territory. 2. Physical geographical space data and its specifics and regularities. 3. Space analysis, space models, and space data structure applied in physical geography. 4. Risk physical geographical processes and their consequences. 5. The role of physical geography in landscape planning (EIA, landscape plans, ÚSES, etc.) 6. The role of various levels of public service, from local, through national, up to international and global public services within sustainable development. 7. Activities of sustainable development in the Czech Republic and co-operation with the public. 8. International environmental conventions (e.g. the Ramsar Convention, Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Convention on Biodiversity, Convention to Combat Desertification, etc.).
