Course content
Information on the geological environment and its physical parameters. Introduction to geophysics - division of geophysical methods, physical and geological backgrounds of the methods, basic knowledge of physical manifestations of geological structures, instrumentation. Overview of methods - acquisition, processing and interpretation of geophysical data in solution of the problems of geological and tectonic situation, exploration of deposits, hydrogeology and engineering geology. Examples of geophysical measurements.

Learning outcomes
Division of geophysical methods, physical and geological backgrounds of the methods, basic knowledge of physical manifestations of geological structures, instrumentation.
The students should be able to: - define physical properties of the geological environment - describe principles of geophysical methods, utilized instrumentation, and interpretation of geophysical data - exemplify the application of geophysics on tectonic situation in ore deposit survey, in hydrogeology and engineering geology
Prerequisites
Knowledge of physicla geology and high-school level knowledge of physics and mathematics.
