Course content
|
Excursion to interesting mineralogical, petrographical, palaeontological and geological localities in the environs of Olomouc. Collecting of minerals, rocks and fossils, gold panning. Excursion routes are conducted in relatively undemanding terrain around Grygov and Krčmaň, Hranice na Moravě and Teplice nad Bečvou, Domašov nad Bystřicí, Bruntál, Sobotín, Nectava, Přerov, Mladeč or Čelechovice na Hané.

|
Excursion to interesting mineralogical, petrographical, palaeontological and geological localities in the environs of Olomouc.They usually visited localities are around Čelechovice na Hané, Grygov, Sobotín, Domašov nad Bystřicí, Mladeč, Hranice etc.
The students should be able to: - localize and describe the interesting mineralogical, petrographical, palaeontological and geological localities in the environs of Olomouc and in the city itself. - apply sampling methods in the field.

Prerequisites
|
Principles of mineralogy, petrology, paleontology, and general geology, ability to walk app. 15 km each day.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Systematic Observation of Student
Prerequisite: exam from a course that include mineralogy, petrology and general geology - 3 days of active participation - own field notes - own collected samples - knowledge on the visited sites
