Learning outcomes
The course is focused on current methods and procedures of processing geological data on a PC. The course includes a theoretical part in which students are introduced to the basics of probability theory, descriptive statistics, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, characterization of multidimensional sets, time series analysis, etc. Tutorials are focused on processing statistical tasks and working with selected software packages used in geology, geochemistry, geophysics and geostatistics.
