Course content
Design of the digital measurement systems, principles of implementation. Focusing on the computer-based measurement systems, the principle of virtual instrumentation, practical examples. Introduction to programming in LabVIEW, creation of virtual instruments - front panel and block diagram. Simulation measurements - signal generation and analysis, basic algorithms programming, user-friendly control VI. Communication with external devices, instrument drivers. Experiment / measurement computer-control, processing of real data. Implementation of a computer plug-in (PCI) and external (USB) measuring cards, the use of DAQ drivers, creating an application. Measurement of the speed analog and digital signals. Creation of "professional" VI using LabVIEW project. Programming systems with RTOS (LabVIEW Real-Time), the use of PXI, CompactRIO FPGA - parallel application code. Remote systems, web-publishing data.

The aim is to familiarize students with the technology of virtual instrumentation in the development of digital measurement systems.
Application Apply knowledge of virtual instrumentation in practise. Develop computer based measurement systems. Use measurement hardware and program algorithms in experiments
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the digital measurement devices principles, and basic programming algorithms is assumed.
