Learning outcomes
The aim is to refresh and deepen the knowledge of basic chemical calculations and chemical nomenclature. Seminar devoted to the basics of chemical calculations. Mass of atoms and molecules, nomenclature of chemical compounds, determination of chemical formula, calculations from chemical equations. Solution composition (percentage and substance concentration), mixing, dilution, oxidation reduction reaction, pH calculation, buffer solutions.
After completing the course the student should be able to: - Determine the chemical formula. - Calculate data from chemical equations. - Calculate solution composition and pH. - Name organic and inorganic compounds.

Prerequisites
Knowledge of secondary school chemistry and mathematics.
Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Written exam
To be awarded the credit, it is necessary to obtain 67% of the points in written exam 1 (nomenclature) and 2 (calculations), and at the same time to obtain a total of 67% of the overall evaluation rating. The overall evaluation rating consists of two parts and you must get 67% of the points: 90% of the evaluation corresponds to the cumulative result of both written exams 10% corresponds to the average of the points you earned from the tests (6 tests) during the term.
