Course content
|
Completion of information for the implementation of the bachelor's thesis according to the questions and requirements of the students. Lessons on the issue of plagiarism and the associated issue of the way of using already published results and citing the used literature. Alerts to common student mistakes. Elaboration of a presentation in PowerPoint, which will be the basis for the defense of the bachelor's thesis, i.e. to learn to briefly describe the essence of the topic of the bachelor's thesis, both in the theoretical area and when presenting one's own experimental results. Practical verification of own oral presentation skills. Reminding of the content, form of presentation and the student's performance itself by both teachers and students within the seminar. Strengthening the student's ability to participate in a discussion on a professional topic. Output: Processed presentations in PowerPoint. Increasing the competitiveness of graduates on the labor market, strengthening self-confidence, independent thinking and the ability to engage in discussion.

The course is intended for bachelor students in Biochemistry.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student
The condition for obtaining credit is 100% participation in the seminar (possibility of replacing up to 2 absences due to serious reasons / substitute seminar work). Acquaintance with the instructions and requirements for the preparation of a bachelor's thesis within the seminar and based on information on the website of the Department of Biochemistry, PřF UP. Elaboration of a presentation in PowerPoint, which will be the basis for the defense of the bachelor's thesis. Own oral presentations, including active participation in the discussion of the discussed topics.
