Course content
|
The basis is work with professional articles in magazines. The goal is to teach students to summarize the basic information and understand the message of the selected professional article. The ability to process this information clearly in the form of a presentation (e.g. in PowerPoint) is verified. As part of the assigned project, students present to others in their oral presentation an introduction to the issue, the material and methods used, the results achieved and the resulting conclusions. Emphasis is placed on the involvement of students in the discussion, which always follows individual presentations. The student's ability to participate in a discussion on a professional topic by both answering and asking questions is strengthened.

Learning outcomes

Strengthen the student's ability to: - work with a professional article ? summarize the basic information and results, clearly process them in the form of a presentation (e.g. in PowerPoint); - present published professional results ? look for them in the text, interpret and pass them on to the audience; - participate in a discussion on a professional topic.

Prerequisites

For students of the 1st year of the bachelor's degree in biochemistry.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
Conditions for granting credit: - 100% participation in the seminar (possibility of replacing up to 2 absences due to serious reasons in the form of a seminar work on a given topic); - processing of the assigned professional article into a presentation and its presentation; - active participation in the discussion on the discussed topics. The output is a prepared presentation, increasing the competitiveness of graduates on the labor market, strengthening self-confidence, independent thinking and the ability to participate in a discussion.
