Course content
|
Repeating of basic knowledge of spoken and written English obtained in secondary school (successful passing of an English language exam at graduate level is considered to be advantageous). English grammar is repeated and improved using the textbook English Grammar in Use (Cambridge University Press), Raymond Murphy. The content of the textbook is supplemented by chemical terms (basic terminology of inorganic and organic compounds, types of chemical reactions, protein structure) and those of biological disciplines (chromosome, mitosis, meiosis, mutation, photosynthesis). The attention is paid to understanding the texts: reading and translation of scientific texts. The students should be able to understand the text in whole context, analyse it, discuss it and give an overview.
