Course content
The Historical and philosophical aspects of the Nature conservation and its beginning in context of the Human impacts on the nature. Actual position of the Topic of the Nature Conservation in complex of the Environmental conservation and science, Conservation Biology. General questions in Nature Conservation - influences and occasions of deteriorating and loose of biodiversity and habitats. Actual status of Czech nature and key factors influencing natural habitats and species. Development of the methods and conceptions in Nature conservation, theories, hypothesis and research topics in Nature conservation. Principles of design and management of nature reservations. Landscape conservation, theoretical roots and practical steps in Czech Republic. Basic International conventions, agreements and unions and another forms of transboundary cooperation. State police in nature conservation, state organisations and authority, private firms and non government organisations. Prevention of the damages on nature, environmental assessment, PR in nature conservation. Natura 2000 and its transposition and implementation in Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes
The course aims at presenting actual information and procedures from the branch. Major approaches, conceptual and theoretical topics are listed in syllabus.
Knowledge - Describe the system of public administration of nature protection in the CR - Describe the Natura 2000 - European Community Directives, transposition and implementation of the system in the CR - Describe the state of nature in the CR and the most serious factors which have been and which are influencing the nature in past and in recent time - Know the history and main developmental stages of nature conservation in our country and in the world - Identify the principles of PR (public relations) in nature conservation
