Course content

During the field trip, students will analyze landscape features such as geomorphological formations, vegetation cover, watercourses, and habitats. The program will also include discussions on the historical development of the landscape, the impact of human activities on its current state, and examples of both successful and challenging nature conservation efforts. Students will visit key locations where they will observe practical approaches to nature conservation, such as river restoration, management of protected areas, and the preservation of traditional landscape elements. The field trip offers students an opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience and gain a deeper understanding of landscape dynamics and their importance for both society and nature.

Learning outcomes
|
The goal of the field trip is to provide students with an opportunity to explore and understand a specific landscape area and its complex characteristics directly in the field. Students will become familiar with the natural, cultural, and historical aspects of the area and gain practical knowledge about nature and landscape conservation. The field trip emphasizes understanding the interconnections between natural processes, human activities, and the protection of landscape character.
- Knowledge in the field of landscape ecology, landscape fragmentation and landscape protection - Ability to assess the key problems of a specific landscape area and suggest possible solutions - Skills in common field methods and their documentation
