Course content
Evolution of lower and higher plants Basic evolutionary mechanisms and methods of their study, position of cyanobacteria, algae and fungi, basic characteristics, origin of higher plants, adaptations to terrestrial environment, evolutionary relations. Physiology and cell biology of plants Composition of plant body, water transport , nutritions, grow and development, germination, photosynthesis, respiration, stress Phytogeography and ecology Phytogeography historical and regional. Plant ecology. Ecological factors, adaptations of plants, key ecological principles, biogeochemical cycles, biodiversity, temporal and spatial changes of biodiversity.
