Course content
|
Centres of origin. Evolution of crops. Cereals major species, minor species. Legumes. Tuber crops. Fruit trees and shrubs. Beverage crops. Herbs and spices. Vegetables. Oilseed and sugar crops. Fibre crops. Dyeing plants. Practical exercises are aimed at selected cultivated crops and their wild relatives, and student will train basic cultivation practices and research methods.

|
Plants and men, beginnings of domestication and crop cultivation, cultivated crops and their wild relatives.
After attending the course, student should be able to: Describe various types of economically important plants; Explain origin of sected crops; Characterise the gene centres of selected economically important plants. Apply acquired knowledge in relation to other courses of Botany, in plant prostection and during teaching the biology on basic schools.

Knowledge of plant morphology, system of higher plants, genetics.

|
Oral exam
Knowledge in extent of the lectures, oral exam, 100% attendance at practices.
