Course content
The course is dividend into two parts. General part: general characteristics of the Czech flora, important (key) literature, historical overview of the botanical research in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, relationships between the environment and the flora, evolution of the Czech flora, relicts, endemics and introduced species in the Czech flora, introduction to phytogeography of the Czech Republic (phytogeographical divisions, phytochorotypes). Special part: new discoveries, recent studies and questions in the botanical studies of the Czech flora, taxonomy of critical groups, new species, nomenclature changes, important taxonomic groups (genera) of the flora of the Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes
Lectures are focused on the characteristics of the flora of the Czech Republic (vascular plants).
Student should be able to (after attending the course): - Recall main literature sources linked to flora of Czechia and history of floristic research in Czech lands. - Characterize florogenesis of the Czech flora, including important taxa. - Describe phytogeographical divisions of Czechia and recall the most important taxa. - Characterize the most important taxonomic groups of Czech Flora (families, genera). record
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the system of Central European vascular plants.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam

oral exam: theoretical knowledge in extent of the lectures and recommended literature - two randomly selected questions from general characteristics, one question with two subquestion from the special part.
