Course content

1) structure, methods of elaboration, and other requisites of final student theses (Bc., Mgr., Ph.D.) 2) types and structure of scientific articles (communication, full paper, review, etc.) 3) procedure for elaboration of a scientific article (data collection and processing, authorship and co-authorship, the role of the correspondent author) 4) procedure for publishing the article - communication with the editors of the journal, peer-review, proofs, etc. 5) scientific presentation in the form of a lecture 6) scientific presentation in the form of a poster 7) popularization-educational article 8) patents and other forms of publishing scientific work 9) ethics of scientific work (plagiarism, standards of scientific practice and falsification of data, etc.)

Learning outcomes
|
Within this course, the student should get acquainted with the basic information channels in scientific communication (oral and written). He/she will be introduced to how the final student thesis should be prepared, how to prepare and publish a scientific article (the most common form of the published research data), learn to present a scientific presentation and poster and will be acquainted with other forms of publishing scientific information. Last but not least, the ethics of scientific work will be discussed, including compliance with the standards of scientific practice.
The student will gain extended theoretical and practical knowledge of how the results of scientific work are published and communicated.
