Course content
Lecture Topics: Private law system I: principles and norms Interpretation and complementation of private law III: influence of fundamental rights on private law, international and European context of private law and its europeisation Private law system II: sources of law Evolution of private law I: from 19th century to the half of 20th century Evolution of private law II: terms and institutions of Czechoslovak socialistic private law in the context of contemporary law. Interpretation and complementation of private law I Interpretation and complementation of private law II Legal principles and axioms of private law I Legal principles and axioms of private law II Person in legal sense I: general features Person in legal sense II: natural person Legal person I Legal person II Thing in a Legal sense I Thing in a Legal sense II Seminar topics follow the topics of the lectures.

Learning outcomes
During the course the students will be apprised with the fundamental terms of private law, sources of private law, elementary ways of its interpretation and information about its historical development. It includes mainly the problematic covered by general part of the Civil Code and first part of Commercial code. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students who have completed this course will gain elementary knowledge in the field of private law, which may serve as base for the wider and deeper study of particular private law branches.
Prerequisites
Completion of this course is not conditional upon completion of some other courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

It is essential that those students who would like to get the credit must have attendance within the scope set by the seminar teacher, succesfull completition of the interim and final credit test and fulfil other conditions set by the seminar teacher.
