Course content
1) Insolvency law - notion, sources, basic principles of insolvency proceedings, forms of bankruptcy 2) Subjects of insolvency proceedings - debtor, creditors, creditors ´organs, bankruptcy trustee 3) Course of insolvency proceedings in general - commencement, moratorium, service, decision on bankruptcy, ways of settlement of bankruptcy 4) Course of insolvency proceedings - creditors and setting up of receivables, property of debtor, proceedings called by the bankruptcy 5) Bankruptcy as method of settlement 6) Reorganization and debt forgiveness

Learning outcomes
The course shall educate the students in the legal regulation of bankruptcy in the Czech Republic. It will analyze the Insolvency Act, no 182/2006 Coll., (on bankruptcy and ways of its settlement). Students will be taught basic institutes of insolvency proceedings, its commencement and course, and finally the ways of settlement of bankruptcy.
Students will acquire knowledge of the insolvency proceedings in the Czech Republic and acquire skills for cross-referencing of substantive and procedural law.
Prerequisites
The completion of this course is not conditioned upon completion of any other courses.

Student performance

It is essential that those students who would like to pass the course must have attendance within the scope set by the seminar teacher and succeed in the colloquium.
