Learning outcomes

The course Selected Issues of Family Law focuses on the following areas: Importance of family law and its position in the legal system. The emergence of marriage. Marriage - void and voidable. The rights and obligations of spouses. Termination and dissolution of marriage. The creation of the same sax partnerships. The rights and obligations of the partners. Termination and cancellation of the partnership. Cohabitation. Rights and obligations between partners. Determining parentage. Current issues of motherhood. Presumption of paternity. Parental responsibility. Maintenance Obligations. Institutes: foster care, adoption, custody of another. Guardianship and custodianship. Social and legal protection. Rights of the child. Current issues recodification. Europeizace Czech family law. Students will gain awareness of the family law in the Czech Republic. The course is taught in English focusing on the terminology of family law. Innovation of the course was supported by the project Supporting interdisciplinary studies and innovation of study subjects at Palacky University in Olomouci CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students who absolve this course gain general overview of the legal regulation of the Family law in the Czech Republic. An additional value of the course lies in the fact, that attendants of the course will gain language skills and orientation in the special English legal terminology.

Mark
It is essential that those students who would like to pass the course must have attendance within the scope set by the seminar teacher and they also must succeed in the exam.
