1. Physician-patient relationship in general 2. Physician-patient relationship in historical perspective 3. Physician-patient relationship from a comparative perspective 4. Health care contracts according to NCC 5. Fundamental rights and duties of the contractual relationship 6. Modification of the nature of the relationship through public law regulation? 7. Civil liability in health care (compensation systems, strict x personal liability, contractual liability x liability for delicts, causation problems, loss of chances, the definition of "lege artis")

Learning outcomes
|
To provide essential knowledge about relationship between physician and patient and about medical malpractice. The unavoidable part covers work with the relevant case-law.
Students who have completed this course will extend the knowledge of private law.

The completion of this course is not conditioned upon completion of any other courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
It is essential that those students who would like to pass the course must have attendance within the scope set by the seminar teacher and they also must succeed in colloquium.
