The content of the course is made up of the knowledge gained during courses Introduction to Public Law and Introduction to the Constitutional Law.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to introduce the basic concepts and institutes of the public law, the entities of the public law, to introduce the students to the problems of formation, existence and functions of the state, the basic mechanisms of state functioning and democratic system, horizontal and vertical division of powers within the state, state sovereignty and its internal and external aspects including the state's relation towards the international community. The aim of this subject is also to introduce the students to the constitutional fundamentals of organization and functioning of the state (the Czech Republic), the sources of constitutional law, the internal state organization, constitutional enshrinement, powers and mutual relations of supreme state authorities, the horizontal and vertical division of power, representative and direct democracy, the relations between the Czech Republic and other states, the relations between the Czech Republic and the international community and the problems of emergencies.
The students who have completed this subject will gain orientation and knowledge concerning the public authorities functioning both internally (internal state organization) and externally (international relations), concerning the description and analysis of the fundamental constitutional concepts and institutes as well as the functioning of the state mechanism of the Czech Republic.
Prerequisites
Prerequisite for completing the course is to meet the study requirements of all subjects of the field of Law in Public Administration.

It is essential that those students who would like to get the exam must demonstrate complex knowledge of content taught in Introduction to the Public Law and Introduction to the Constitutional Law.
