Course content
- History of public prosecution and its position in European context - Structure of state attorney's office and its competence - State attorney, professional ethical code, responsibility of state attorneys - Supervision in the structure of state attorney's office - Surveillance competence and duties of state attorneys - Proposals of the state attorney to the court in the preliminary proceedings - Decision activities of state attorney in the preliminary proceedings - Posotion of state attorney during trial

Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to present problematics of position and activities of state attorney's office in the connection with the criminal proceedings. The attention will be focused on duties and responsibility of state attorney and on relations in the structure of the of state attorney's office. Students are going to get detailed information about individual competence of state attorney in preliminary proceedings, as well as trial. Use of individual measures will be explained not only in the view of legal regulation contained in the Criminal Procedure Code, but also in the view of methods used in structure of state attorney's office.
Students will get the knowledge and skills needed to the proper use of legal regulation regarding to the activities of state attorneys in the criminal proceedings.
Prerequisites
Completion of this course is not conditional upon completion of another course.

Student performance

In order to get the credit it is essential to pass the exam in the form of written test (case analysis).
