Course content
1. Types of written works, structure and formalities 2. Definition of topic, research questions, hypotheses 3. Academic resources and their search 4. Critical reading and critical thinking 5. Citations and plagiarism 6. Basics of qualitative and quantitative research methods

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook)
  • Semestral Work - 40 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to introduce students to the basics of scientific work and to develop their writing skills, which are necessary for their further study and subsequent job. It will concentrate on form of written work in accordance with the internal rules of the Faculty of Law, on the criteria for correct definition of topic and research questions and on the basics of qualitative and quantitative research methods. The students will also get familiar with the search of academic resources and with the correct work with them. They will learn about the different forms of plagiarism and how to avoid it.
Students who have completed this course will gain basic theoretical and methodological knowledge from the area of scientific research. They will improve their research skills, the work with academic resources and their writing.
Prerequisites
The completion of this course is not conditioned upon completion of any other courses.

Seminar Work

Active attendance, weekly assignments and a written final paper.
