Course content
Relationship between the EC and Communist bloc, development of situation to 1993 Relationship between EC/EU and the CR from the application to the Helsinki summit Progress of accession negotiations and main problems on both sides Closure of negotiations (Copenhagen summit), ratification phase Theoretical analysis of evaluation of causes and progress of accession process Czech interests in the EU- the most important issues that have occurred since 2004

Learning outcomes
The Czech membership in the EU has brought many rights and duties tied to membership. The students will apply a political science approach to the analysis of the Czech EU accession process and examine selected effects of the EU integration process.
Students who have completed this course will knowledge and skills needed for comprehension of the Czech Republic role in the integration process and get to know the main priorities of our state in it.
Prerequisites
The completion of this course is not conditioned upon completion of any other courses.

Student performance

Obligatory attendance in seminars, delivery of presentation and successful final test result are required in order to receive credit.
