Learning outcomes
The main aim of the course is to deepen and broaden the students' theoretical knowledge in the field of comparison of European political systems. Lectures will focus on selected European countries and regions (France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia and Benelux). Lectures will focus on the constitutional development of these countries, their power, legislative and political and non-political institutions. Due to the nature of the Faculty of Law, some basic topics such as the judiciary and its structure, the constitution and types of constitutions, and other topics that are part of the compulsory curriculum of a law student have been deliberately omitted. The seminar teaching will focus on the current developments in selected European countries after 2010, with a focus on the party and electoral system and an analysis of the results of the last two elections.
Students who have completed this course will gain the knowledge necessary to understand the features of law.
Prerequisites
The completion of this course is not conditioned upon completion of any other courses.
