Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop students? language competences in the field of Legal English and to prepare them for the effective use of English in academic and professional legal contexts. Students will acquire basic and advanced legal terminology in the field of the law of torts, the law of contracts, labour law and company law. Students will learn to understand specialized texts in these areas and gain the skills necessary to work with legal sources in English.
Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to: ? understand legal terminology in the field of criminal law, ? read, analyze, and interpret legal texts, ? formulate legal opinions and documents effectively, ? express legal arguments precisely and appropriately in discussions and presentations, ? recognize differences between the common law and civil law systems, ? acquire basic intercultural competences for work in an international legal environment
Prerequisites
Successful completion of the courses KJA/MAJ1 , KJA/MAJ2, KJA/MAV1 is required.
