Discipline gives insight into the phenomenon of mental retardation - definition of mental retardation, diagnosis, symptoms, methodological problems, the psychological characteristics of people with intellectual disabilities, with emphasis on childhood, adolescence and young adulthood, the etiology and characteristics of different syndromes.
