Learning outcomes
The objective of the discipline is to explain the significance of hearing and auditory perception, which is one of the primary factors affecting the nature of educational intervention in persons with hearing impairment. In terms of content, the discipline covers information in the area of audiology, phoniatrics, and otorhinolaryngology, the knowledge of which is a prerequisite in addressing the theory and practice of deaf education in the context of a multidisciplinary approach to individuals with hearing impairment; focus is also on anatomic characteristics of the auditory analyser, physiological principles of auditory perception, fundamentals of acoustics, and etiology of pathological deviations in the area of auditory perception.
