The discipline presents the concept and historiographic development of comprehensive rehabilitation in the Czech Republic and abroad. The components (or means) of comprehensive rehabilitation are defined as presented by various authors focusing on this issue. The circle model of comprehensive rehabilitation is described, including its specifics with respect to the type of cerebral palsy and the age of the persons involved. The process of rehabilitation planning is described as well as the methods of assessment of its effectiveness in persons with cerebral palsy. The basic principles of the rehabilitation process are described together with the concepts, methods and procedures applicable in various components of comprehensive rehabilitation in children with cerebral palsy. The official system of providing comprehensive rehabilitation is described including relevant legislation in the Czech law (comparison with foreign countries).
