Course content
|
The subject aims to acquaint the participants with the issue of discipline that focuses on people with visual impairments across the age spectrum. The basis of the terminological definition of discipline, characteristics of particular groups of people with visual disabilities (blind, visually impaired persons and persons with impaired binocular vision) and the consequences of disability that may affect the life of that individual. The course will focus on issues of special counseling for people with visual impairments, primarily on the activities of special education centers for these pupils, as well as on the process of integrated education of these pupils, which is also supported by Czech legislation. Another issue is the communication of visually impaired people using alternative communication systems, which primarily focus on methodological support and teaching of Braille. Also important is the issue of prevention of socially pathological phenomena in this group of people, including segregation.
