Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to develop relevant competencies for effective communication of an expert (special educator) with a client with health disability. Meanewhile, focus on developing personal and social qualities and skills to facilitate the work with clients during the interventions, dramatherapeutic activities (assertiveness, empathy, et.) During the course, students will train to develop communication cempetencies relevant to use with any client from the spectrum of Special education field. They will also develop communication competencies to work with inividual with impaired communication skills given the context, age, and type of health disability. The above mentioned competencies will be developed based on role play of model situations and video recordings. The format of lectures is exclusively practical, in the form of practical tutorials and seminars aimed at areas of: - clients´ reflections as well as special educator self-reflection; - verbal and nonverbal communication means; - systems and means of augmentatitve communication for individuals with severe mental retardadation and autistic clients; - ability to accept social roles, acquiring the roles, game management and improvisation with intact population. Topics: 1. Verbal and nonverbal communication (Special education students with drama therapy specialisation with extension of sound communication, body language - codes) 2. Principles of communication with individuals of all target groups within the field of Special Education (division based on types of disabilities, or based on age) 3. Principles of communication competencies with individuals with impaired communication abilities. a. Communication social factors b. Communication therapy based on situations (shopping, office, school, doctor) c. Alternative techniques and approaches (AAC) Proposal and creation of specific tools based on individual needs of a client.
The outcomes of the subject are based on partial profile of the subject`s absolvent.
