Course content
The discipline treats the system and functioning of the counselling.

Learning outcomes
Aims: This course follows the Introduction to Special Education 1 subject. It develops and deepens the students´ understanding of the basic concepts of Special Education. The aim is to provide students with solid foundation of knowledge for better orientation in follow-up Special Education disciplines. The structure of the subject focuses on individual stages of development of persons with handicap or disability; the forms of special education care relevant for each stage; and introduction of basic concepts of individual disciplines within the field of Special Education. Topics: Introduction of the systems of care in the Czech Republic provided by different branches (healthcare, education, social) Introduction to Special Education diagnostics Introduction to Special Educaiton counselling Family with children with special needs; persons caring for inividuals with handicap or disability. Early childhood aged children with special needs Middle childhood aged children with special needs Adulthood and aging of persons with handicap or disability Introduction of the field of Social services Specail Educaiton of persons with mental disability Special Education of persons with hearing impairment Special Education of persons with visual impairment Special Education of persons with reduced mobility Special Edcuation of persons with psychosocial disabilities Special Education of peorson with impaired communication skills Specail Education of persons with developmental learning disabilities Special Education of persons with combined disabilities Special education of highly gifted persons
