Learning outcomes
|
In this subject students will understand the application of evidence based practice into the area of special education and will learn skills needed for searching information in scientific literature and its critical evaluation. 1. Definition of evidence-based practice, history of this concept and current applications into the special education. 2. Types of evidence in empirical research according to the Oxford model - levels of scientific evidence. 3. Formulation of search / research question (PICO format and its modifications). 4. Searching the scientific databases and grey literature sources. 5. Creation of the search strategy, its sensitivity and specificity. 6. Extraction of information, critical evaluation of relevance of literature sources and its organisation (citation managers). 7. Designs of primary and secondary research.
The outcomes of the subject are based on partial profile of the subject`s absolvent.
