Course content

The seminar focuses on literary development in the 1930's and 1940's in the context of a worsened international political situation and the Second World War (existentialism, psychological and historical prose).

Learning outcomes
|
This course describes Czech literature originating in the 1st half of the 20th century. Topics include: Pre- and post-war civilism, 1WW in literature, proletariate literature, poetism, surrealism, greap depression of the 1930s, literature under German occupation, origins of the war generation.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam, Dialog, Seminar Work
100% attendance rate at seminars (absence upon a written doctor's note is excused), elaboration of a seminar thesis. There is an exam at the end of the semester - written part (verification of knowledge) and oral part (discussion on books read).
