After completing the course students should be able to: - to appreciate the role of literature for children and youth in the development of children's reading and the formation of the axiological system of elementary school pupils; - to assess the basic developmental trends of literature for children and youth, with an emphasis on its current state; - summarize and assess development trends in childhood and adolescence imaging in Czech and world literature for children and youth; - to assess the representation of gender issues in Czech and world literature for children and youth and its reflection in the educational process of elementary school; - to assess the topic of ethical values ??in the literature for children and youth and to suggest possibilities for use in the educational process of elementary school; - Evaluate the reflection of multicultural society in the literature for children and youth and in pedagogical practice; - to appreciate humor in literature for children and youth as a literary-dyadic category; - to evaluate the formative potential of the current young adult literature; - to assess current trends in Czech and world theory and critique of literature for children and youth and the possibilities of their reflection in pedagogical practice.
