Course content

Development of the language until the 13th century. Development of the language from the 14th to the 17th century. Development of the language from the 18th century. Phonology system until the 10th century (Proto-Slavic, Proto-Czech). Phonology system from the 10th century to the 14th century (Old Czech). Phonology system from the 14th to the 17th century (Old Czech). Morphology system. Old Czech syntax. Vocabulary. Dialectology - basic classification of Czech dialects, differences in phonology and morphology system with respect to the development of the literary language. Etymology - its place in linguistics, authors, our etymological dictionaries. Popular etymology. Historical grammar. Dialectology - its place in linguistics, authors, publications, textbooks.
