Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: using linguistic theory, identify and name specific linguistic phenomena, classify Slavic languages and describe the place of Czech among them, define the national language and characterize its individual forms on the basis of examples, classify the individual types of consonants and vowels, describe the basic sounds of the language, define the main orthographic principles of Czech and errors in pronunciation, perform orthographic analysis of the text, apply orthographic algorithms in the areas of morphological, syntactic and lexical spelling, explain the basic methods of vocabulary enrichment and the formation of new words in Czech, use examples to explain the stratification of the lexicon, perform morphematic analysis of words, define higher and lower order grammatical categories, apply knowledge of morphology in the linguistic analysis of text.
