Course content

Literary types and genres of literature for children and youth. Structure of literary works and the means of their topical, compositional and linguistic development. Evaluation of literary works, artistic and trivial literature.

Learning outcomes
|
The basic aim of this subject is to supplement and expand students' existing knowledge of the theory of literature by means of those terms most frequently used to analyze and interpret literature for children and youth. Attention will mainly be paid to the issues of literary type and genre, the structure of literary works, and the means of their topical, compositional and linguistic structures.
Students will be able to select adequate methods of analysis and interpretation of the texts of the literature for children and youth with regard to their specific characteristics.
