Topics: Reading literacy. Skills that precede reading and writing. Methods, didactic games and educational materials, which contribute to the development of reading literacy. Selecting appropriate text to stimulate text comprehension. Educational activities and projects to develop reading literacy.

After completing the course students should be able to: - to understand the nature, function and content structure of reading literacy in pre-school children, - to define and stimulate the pre-school children's pre-reading skills (development graphomotors), - to choose appropriate methodologies, didactic games and other activities that lead to the development of readership programmability, - to choose the appropriate educational material to support the development of reading literacy, - Explain what is understanding the text and know how to verify the understanding of texts in preschool children, - select texts from the field of children's literature based on criteria that we can use to develop reading literacy, - to create practical examples of educational activities for the development of reading literacy in preschool children, - implement appropriate methods and strategies to develop reader literacy in educational activities within nursery education, - Create a weekly project to stimulate and develop reader literacy.
