This subject, New trends in electronic communication, provides students a basic introduction to asynchronous and synchronous communication tools, which are fast becoming a part of everyday communication. The seminars are divided according to the most widespread e-media of today, with significant portions dedicated to internet communication (in both online synchronous and asynchronous forms) and mobile communication (with a focus on SMS, predictive languages, Lingo, T9, GPRS communication within GSM, etc.). Other parts of the seminars are focused on electronic communication perspectives, media convergence, internet telephony, use of online messengers, and working with PocketPCs and electronic books.
