Course content |
(1) Morphology (morphology as a scientific discipline). Basic morphemes. Analysis of word structure. Classification of parts of speech and their flexibility. (2) Nouns (definition and classification of nouns, syntactic functions of nouns). (3) Adjectives, pronouns and numerals (definition of the mentioned parts of speech, classification of individual parts of speech, gradation of adjectives, syntactic functions of the mentioned parts of speech). (4) Noun categories of nouns and adjectives (overview and definition of noun categories, algorithms for determining noun categories, specifics of noun categories). (5) Patterns of nouns, adjectives, pronouns and numerals (overview of patterns, or subpatterns, algorithm for determining patterns of nouns and adjectives). (6) Verbs (definition and classification of verbs, syntactic functions of verbs). (7) Verb categories (overview and definition of verb categories, algorithms for determining verb categories, specifics of verb categories). (8) Inflexible parts of speech (definition of all inflexible parts of speech and their classification, grading of adverbs, syntactic functions of inflexible parts of speech).

Learning outcomes |
After completing the course, students should be able to: - Understand morphology as a scientific discipline and learn basic morphemes and word structure. - Master the classification of parts of speech and their flexibility. - Define and classify nouns, adjectives, pronouns and numerals and understand their syntactic functions. - Learn to determine the nominal categories of nouns and adjectives and understand their specifics. - Master the algorithms for determining the patterns of nouns, adjectives, pronouns and numerals. - Understand the definition and classification of verbs, verb forms and their syntactic function. - Learn to determine verb categories and understand their specifics. - Define and classify inflexible parts of speech and understand their syntactic functions, including the gradation of adverbs.
