Course content
|
Main topics of the course: The nature, function and content structure of children's literature. Specific features of children's literature, its place in national literature. The development of children's literacy. Reading strategies of the development of reading literacy. Reading strategies for preschool children. Staging children's reading. Library and local projects. Contemporary illustrators of children's books. Deepening skills in interpreting art text.

Learning outcomes

Course Objective: Student will acquire knowledge in the field of didactic interpretation of samples from children's literature, practically try out various methods of working with artistic and non-artistic text, conceive a project based on contemporary intentional literature for preschool children.

After completion of the course, students should be able to: - Understand the nature, function, and content structure for preschool children, - assess and evaluate the current state and development of children's literature, - select adequate methods of interpreting literary texts, justify their choice and work with examples in order to develop the key competences of preschool children, - demonstrate the possibilities of using literary examples in practical activities, - to explain the developmental stages of reading with a focus on emergent literacy, - to apply methods and techniques for developing literacy in educational activities within the kindergarten, - demonstrate the ability to select appropriate text for didactic interpretation, - design a procedure for didactic interpretation of an artistic text, - justify the contribution of artistic literature to children's personal development, - plan and implement a complete preparation for an educational activity with preschool children.
